The Rt. Hon. (John) Enoch Powell (1912-98), noted Conservative politician and Greek scholar. Fellow of Trinity College Cambridge, Professor of Greek in the University of Sydney, 1937-9, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, 1957-58; Minister of Health, July 1960 - October 1963. Returned to Parliament as an Ulster Unionist 1974-87.
