Lot Essay

The predominant use of vellum, hand decorated with designs of insects and flowerheads in watercolour and gold coloured enamels is a décor characteristic of Carlo Bugatti's designs for the Turin Exhibition, 1902. It is therefore possible that this mirror design is part of the series conceived for Turin.
