Lot Essay

This painting is representative of the calligraphic works shown at Gallery Stadler in Paris during the Seventies, and preceded an aesthetic research at the International Centre of Turin by the international art critic Michel Tapie. In his calligraphic works, Zenderoudi recalled one of the constant components of sound, namely the setting in work of the repetition of key words like a semantic principle. The texture, intermingled with oil and acrylic resin on fabric, lends a velvety appearance to this painting, and the play of textures, with their very subtle variations, adds to the painting's overall impression of vibration.
