Lot Essay

Charles Garabed Atamian was an Ottoman-born French painter of Armenian descent . He was a pupil of Antonio Ermolao Paoletti. He exhibited at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts between 1913 and 1942, and at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris between 1938 and 1945. Between 1923 and 1939 he spent his summers painting the beach in Saint-Gilles-sur-Vie in the Pays de la Loire region of France.
