CHARLES GETZEIN 1887 DETROIT WATCH
A gold pocketwatch presented to Charles Getzein in appreciation for his participation in the 1887 Detroit Baseball Clubs Championship season. Getzein was a catcher on the club, and the 18 karat gold watch is inscribed "Presented To Charles Getzein By His Friends In Appreciation Of His Valuable Services As Member Of The Detroit Base Ball Club Sept. 13th 1887." The front of the watch is engraved with his initials, and was manufactured by M.S. Smith & Co. Detroit, Michigan.
