A 2pp. manuscript letter on paper to Richard, Earl of Arran, signed "Charles R." at the head and dated 27th February 1683 at end, objecting to the fact that "Mary formerly wife to William Sarsfield of Lucan in our Kingdome of Ireland Esq. now Wife to William Fanshaw Esq." has been deprived of the inheritance due to her and her children by her husband's death, "We being particularly informed that Sir Theophilus Jones doth still detaine a great part of the Estate ...," with counter signatures at foot, folio, with two integral blanks.
