GRACEFUL HONG KONG
Hong Kong as a cosmopolitan has long been a muse to various artists. Embracing both tradition and innovation, the generous and inclusive culture of Hong Kong has captivated the essence from both the Orient and the West. First Open Hong Kong presents the curated session 'Graceful Hong Kong' as a tribute to our home with unique charisma.

'There’s the snow again VI presents a snowy scene through a beautiful gold screen covered in shed ant wings. Despite its appearance, a sense of doom is conveyed. During rainy seasons in Hong Kong, thousands of flying ants buzz in the air, their wings eventually dropping off shortly before their death. The work reflects the gloomy outlook of many youngsters in Hong Kong. Despite their continuous hard work, many still struggle as they face high property prices and the pressure of long working hours. The artist describes himself as one of the ants submerged in this city. Beyond the poetic beauty of the artwork, his scream is expressed.' - Chui Pui Chee
