THE DRAFT CONSTITUTION OF THE CENTENNIAL STATE. A detailed preliminary draft constitution, prepared by an anonymous jurist. The author acknowledges a considerable debt to Jeremy Bentham, "the greatest legist that ever lived." This draft precedes that version adopted in the Colorado Constitutional Convention (20 December 1875 - 14 March 1876) and approved by referendum on 1 July 1876. Colorado was admitted to the Union on 1 August 1876 by proclamation of President Grant. Streeter sale 2184. McMurtrie & Allen, Colorado, 245. RARE.
