The present lot is after a rectangular miniature in the Musée Cognacq-Jay, Paris (inv. no. J775), best known by its illustration in M. von Boehn, Miniaturen und Silhouetten, Munich, 1917, colour pl. 10 (erroneously as by Augustin).
