THE EARLIEST CONTINENTAL INSTRUCTION BOOK (Bowen p. 281) on the two games of cricket and 'langbold' ('longball'). The illustrations show field positions, equipment, several batting stances and the correct posture for a wicket-keeper or 'stopperen', reprised on the front cover.
