Lot Essay

The artist Dadang is known for his eloquent exponent of a feeling expression for the ills of society through his paintings and even words as the artist explains "Karya tersebut menggambarkan bukit adalah saksi diam dari peristiwa kekerasan antar manusia. Lewat ketinggiannya dia menyaksikan banyak peristiwa dengan jelas. Hingga kini dia diam dan menyimpan derita. Akankah dia selalu bersabar dan menangis?" (Artist's statement, April 2007) This statement could be translated as, "The work depicts a hill as a silent witness towards many human disaster.

Because of the height, the hill sees many disaster clearly, up till now he keeps his silence and hides his sorrow.

Will he be patient and cries?"
