Lot Essay

David Forrester Wilson studied at the Glasgow School of Art, where he was later to take a teaching post. He was commissioned to paint one of the panels in the Banqueting Hall, part of Glasgow's municipal buildings. His later work tended to be mostly landscapes, particularly of the West Coast of Scotland.
