Lot Essay

'During the 1950s Dod Procter painted a number of children. A work rarely seen is Fiona (dated 1954 by Dod) of a little girl whose large dark eyes portending mischief contrast strongly with the lightness of her hair and sketched features'. (see A. James, A Singular Vision, Dod Procter 1890-1972, Bristol, 2007, p. 125).
