PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE JAPANESE COLLECTION (LOTS 1312-1315)These four paintings were acquired directly from the artists. The collector was part of a delegation for Sino-Japanese cultural exchange who visited China the late 1980s to early 1990s. The artists Bai Xueshi, Dong Shouping, and He Haixia all participated in the exchange. When the collector acquired Ink Pine from Dong Shouping the artist also produced the smaller Ink Bamboo, as an accompanying gift. When the collector acquired the blue-green Scenery of Li River from Bai Xueshi the artist gifted the smaller Ink Plum Blossom as a model example of his calligraphy and painting.
