Lot Essay
Grant made several day visits to the Sussex port of Newhaven from home at Charleston, to paint the boats and harbour and the nearby cliffs. A similar view by Vanessa Bell is in the Virginia and Leonard Woolf collection, Monk's House, Rodmell.
