Lot Essay

The two children depicted in this work are John G. Graham and his brother, the adopted sons of Faith Moore, who with her sister Lady Lee resided at Chequers.

After Lord and Lady Lee of Fareham had donated Chequers to the nation in 1920 for the use of future Prime Ministers, Lady Lee founded a publication named Outlook and during this time she was in regular contact with Edmund Dulac.
