Lot Essay

Mary Rand (d. 1742) was the second daughter and heir of Nordash Rand, of Stone Hall. She firstly married Captain Wright in the Royal Navy and secondly, married Captain Robert Chadwick on 28 July 1713 at Mongeham, Kent. Robert Chadwick had been promoted to the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy in 1710, died in July 1719. Mary Rand had two daughters by him, Mary and Ursula, and died in 1742.
