Lot Essay

Ernest Guerin studied at the École des beaux-arts de Rennes before moving to Paris. His best known work depicts the customs of Breton peasants and their religious festivals. The present work depicts Bretons going about their daily life before the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Joie, Brittany.
