In the Burning Wings series Farah Ossouli explores aspects of the unfortunate situation of women and questions of identity. As with other works of the artist, there is no indication of place and era, as instead she makes a timeless point, not necessarily a feminist discourse. In this work she refers to a situation with an emphasis on a family-oriented traditional environment.

Everything in this setting looks in harmony as father, mother and children sitting in a beautiful land witness the passage of days, nights and wonderful moments. However, the woman's wings are burnt which would obviously mean that she is unable to fly in this paradise. This is the price she has to pay for being in this heaven.
