FIVE SASSANIAN GARNET RING STONES
circa 4th-5th century a.d.
Including a convex oval with the conjoined fore-parts of two lions, one with the head frontal, one with the head in profile, an inscription along either side, both reading "increase;" a convex oval with a soldier standing at an altar, holding a wreath in one hand and resting his other hand on the pommel of his sword; one disk-shaped, engraved with a she-wolf suckling a child; an oval with a device; and an oval with a bird in profile to the left, mounted in a silver fob dated 1884
