Lot Essay

Salmon's Lo Stato presente was published in Venice by G.B. Albrizzi in 1739-1756. The second edition of the work appeared in 26 volumes and aimed at giving an account of the geography and the political and moral background of many countries in the world, from Iceland to China. Volumes XVIII to XXIII covered Italy.
