ALFRED D. TAYLOR COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. Gale played for the Winchester XI in 1840 and 1841, and soon after produced this charming instruction book for beginners wth the laws of cricket added; his great uncle, Dr. W.S. Goddard, had been head-master of Winchester (1793 to 1809). Padwick 380.
