Provenance: R.S. Thorpe 1860 (inscription to 1860).
Seventh to thirteenth and nineteenth to twenty-first edition, first issue, in uniform binding retaining most front wrappers. On 5 June, 1865, the MCC withdrew their patronage of the Guide as, in their opinion, F. Lillywhite had exceeded 'the fair limits of criticism upon cricketers'. It was possibly as a result of this decision that no other editions of the Guide appeared after the twenty-second in 1866. Smith 7-13; 20-22; Padwick 1086. (10)
