COPY NO. 1 OF ONLY 15 COPIES ISSUED. Originally published in Cricket in six parts in early 1900, this chronology in Merritt and Hatcher's minute print reproduces newspaper references to contemporary matches, including the first fully-recorded match of 1744. The laws of 1744 are reprinted. Literary anecdotes, the appearance of the first cricket print and first poem, and brief biographical notes on the players, all add to the flavour.
