Lot Essay

The Yarborough collection included a significant number of works by Dughet; because these are of similar description it is difficult to distinguish between those acquired by Sir Richard Worsley (1751-1805) and those bought by the Huguenot collector, George Aufrère, whose daughter Sophia was the wife of Charles Anderson Pelham, later 1st Baron Yarborough, father of the 1st Earl.
