Lot Essay

Gaston Anglade, a member of The School of Crozant focused on the Valley de La Creuse with its characteristic atmospheric skies and heather hilltops. The valley attracted many artists including Monet who was baffled by the speed with which the light changed. The valley is now less recognisable due to a dam.
