4 volumes bound in 7, 2o (353 x 265 mm). 600 hand-colored lithographed plates after G. Severyns and lithographed by Burggraaff (light darkening, staining or offsetting to plates.) Contemporary half calf (wear to edges and spine ends of some volumes, hinges of first volume cracked). Provenance: Massachusetts Horticultural Society, Stickney Fund (bookplate dated 1877; stamps).
FIRST EDITION, first issue of the RARE COMPLETE SET (Nissen calls for 594, the Plesch copy had 592 plates). The work was reissued as Flora des serres et jardins de Paris, Paris, 1834. Cleveland Collections 950; Dunthorne 121; Great Flower Books p. 85; Nissen BBI 2386. (7)
