Catherine Cranston was a major shareholder in George Walton's decorating company in Glasgow and she commissioned a number of interiors from him both for her Tea Rooms and at her own house in Barrhead. The rooms shown in this pamphlet are primarily those designed by Walton although Mackintosh's stencils at Buchanan Street appear in those illustrations. None of the work which Mackintosh completed at the Argyle Street Tea Rooms, where he and Walton shared the commission, is included.
