the former inscribed 'Georges Loukomski (G.K Loukomski' Le nichet de genti........de Turgenev' (on the reverse); the latter inscribed in cyrillic 'The Kariatids at the entrance to the Hermitage (Leningrad) nowadays destroyed by bombing Monsieur and Madame Barou - best wishes for the New Year' signed also in cyrillic 'G.K Lukomskii' (lower centre)
