Houbraken after F. van Mieris in volume I, engraved dedication leaf in each volume, one double-page engraved plate, engraved illustrations of coins throughout, 2 full-page, large engraved headpiece in each volume. (Frontispiece slightly browned, some generally light browning of text, but some quires in volumes III-IV more heavily browned.) FIRST EDITION.

Together 5 volumes, uniformly bound in contemporary Dutch vellum gilt, covers with large central lozenge enclosed by inner and outer double fillets, the inner fillet with fleurons at corners, spines gilt in compartments with repeated rose-head motifs, gilt morocco lettering-pieces (covers a little soiled and slightly bowed).
