BOLDLY INSCRIBED in ink in blank lower margin: "To Walter Pojek - Good Wishes, George Gershwin," with a clearly penned four-bar musical quotation of the principal theme from "Rhapsody in Blue" (in E-Major). "Rhapsody  in Blue," composed for a famous jazz concert at New York's Aeolian Hall, was first performed on 12 February 1924 by the Paul Whiteman Orchestra with Gershwim at the piano.
