Professor Mina Gregori, loc. cit., dates this picture to Ceruti's years in Milan, where he is recorded from 1757 until his death, pointing out that, the portraits of this period, 'si distingue per la confidenza e il modo informale con cui il pittore ne rivela l'umanità'.
