Das 1919 in Bondo, Bergell, entstandene Bild Crotti di Bondo zeigt eine von Kastanienbäumen gesäumte Strasse. Es ist aus einer erhöhten Perspektive - von einem Balkon, dessen Gitter noch zu erkennen ist - gemalt. Der Weg führt das Auge des Betrachters in das Bild hinein. Durch das dichte Blattwerk der Kastanien fallen einzelne Sonnenstrahlen, wodurch ein lebhaftes Muster auf dem Boden entsteht.
Das Motiv eines menschenleeren Strassenzugs, die Farbgebung sowie die in den Vordergrund gerückte Einstrahlung des Lichts bilden hier ein klassisches Beispiel für die Malweise des Impressionisten Giovanni Giacometti.
