A reclining nude in profile to the right

Eric Schleier has kindly confirmed the attribution on the basis of a photograph in a letter dated 30 September 2000, commenting that he knows no other single figure studies in red chalk by Lanfranco, all others being compositional. Dr. Schleier adds that 'the subtle way the hatching is applied is very similar to that of the other red chalk drawings (which are all much smaller).'
