The Madonna holding the Infant Christ standing on her lap

A study for the picture painted for Ferdinando de'Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, and now in the Uffizi (G. Foglia and G. Morganti, 'Giovanni Maria Viani', Paragone, November 1978, 345, pp. 45-53, pl. 40). The picture was dated by Evelina Borea to the last years of Viani's life (E. Borea, Pittori Bolognesi del Seicento nelle Gallerie di Firenze, Florence, 1975, no. 161).
