Cards are numbered 1 to 78, full length figures, double-ended card titles or meanings in German, cards 1 to 5 and 8 to 12 have titles reading upright instead of reversed, cards 2 to 8 have text across the top referring to the elements and day of creation but not in sequence of the card numbers, cards numbered 2 to 12 include signs of the zodiac, cards 13 to 17 include extra number at upper right that has one value higher than the card number, except card number 17 Motality depicting the Reaper of Death has number 13 at upper right, these extra numbers are explained as signes de mort (signs of death), Arabic numerals, unusual Italian suits, two indices, round corners.
