PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed on front endpaper 'The Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Lincoln from Mr. Burnaby Greene 1773', with a MANUSCRIPT SONNET BY THE AUTHOR on opposite page. DNB, volume I: "Greene's literary attempts, turgid translations from the Greek and Latin poets, and feeble imitations of Gray and Shenstone, brought him little save ridicule".
