The Royal Order of the Crown of Hawaii was created on 12.9.1882 by King Kalakaua in commemoration of his Coronation. The Order was given for distinguished merit or services to the State or Sovereign and was awarded in five classes with two associated classes of Medal. The Commander Class was awarded on 71 occasions between 1883 and 1892.
