2o (491 x 358 mm). Title-page printed in red and black. 158 plates (149 colored). Contemporary half-morocco, gilt-lettered on spine, edges gilt (some rubbing and scuffing). Provenance: George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum (bookplate, library stamp on front flyleaf).

A fine selection of carpets from the collection of the Maharaja of Jaipur and others. Many of the patterns were drawn by draughtsmen at Jaipur under the supervision of S.S. Jacob, who had collaborated with Hendley on other works.
