We are grateful to Dr. Ulrike Middendorf for confirming the attribution after inspection of the original (verbal communication, 22 March 2007). She dates the picture to circa 1652/3 and compares it to another painting (see U. Middendorf, Hendrik J. Dubbels, Freren, 1989, p. 159, no. 108, fig. 11).
