Knight of Downe, a brown colt was foaled in 1864 by Knight of Kars out of Tartlet by Birdcatcher. Bred and owned by Mr. Alwyn, as a three-year old, ridden by Salmon, he won the Bromley Spring Handicap at odds of 10-1.
