Lot Essay

The original owner of this work, Raymond Henniker-Heaton, served as Director of the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, Massachusetts, during the 1920s. In the 1950s, Mr. Henniker-Heaton served as Curator of the Phillimore Ives Memorial Gallery in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
