Vessels on the Bosphorus, Hagia Sophia Mosque beyond

Oil on canvas, unlined, on an original stretcher, the paint layer is in excellent condition, secure and stable. Examination under UV light shows very few spots of cosmetic retouching, predominantly along the outer edges, covering damage due to frame abrasions. The painting presents well in a period frame (possibly original). The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate.
