Lot Essay

The Royal Aircraft Establishment dates back to 1908 and undertook research and design work into aeronautics as a government agency. It was mainly based at Farnborough with a smaller site at Bedford. It was renamed the Royal Aerospace Establishment in 1988 and part-privatised in 2001.
