Lot Essay

Born in Hiroshima in 1959, Hiroshi Furuyoshi's ultra realistic paintings have won him international awards and brought him global acclaim. In 2005 he won first prize in the Figurative Category at the International ARC Salon Competition and eclipsed this achievement at the 2009 ARC Salon when he won the prestigious Best in Show award for Julien. Arguably the pinnacle of his career to date, Julien captivates the viewer, drawing them back time and again.
