Polished calf gilt by Bozerian le jeune, black label on spine, gilt edges (a little marked, hinges slightly worn, label a little defective). Provenance: L.A. Burd (armorial bookplate). (Iliad wormed, worse towards the end, both titles mounted, some discolouration). English 18th-century blue morocco gilt, gilt edges (rubbed). Provenance: William Fame (partially cropped 17th-century ownership inscription at head of title of Iliad) - presentation inscription, dated 1799, from Thomas Belsham to James Esdaile on an endpaper in the same volume - Mark Pattison of Lincoln College, Oxford (blindstamp) - L.A.
