Lot Essay

We are grateful to Fred Meijer, of the RKD, The Hague, for endorsing the attribution to Jacob van Spreeuwen upon personal inspection of the original.
The landscape of the present composition may have been executed by a different artist, possibly in the circle of Jan van Goyen.
