Lot Essay

The Bosquet des Dômes in the North Western sector of the gardens was originally designed by Le Nôtre, but takes its name from the two pavilions added by Hardouin-Mansart in 1677. These have since disappeared but the bas-reliefs around the balustrade by Girardon, depicting the coats of arms of the nations of Europe, remain.
