The Woman with the Cat
etching with engraving, 1546, on thick laid paper, with an indistinct watermark, a strong, early impression of an unrecorded first state of this extremely rare print, before much additional cross-hatching present in the other known impressions, trimmed inside the platemark but outside the subject, lacking the outer border, a few short vertical cuts in the upper subject, one with a small thinly backed paper loss, the upper left corner tip made-up, several small wormholes, some thin spots and pale staining and other, minor defects
