Lot Essay

The present lot appears to be a second version of the centre part of Fyt's large, signed composition in the Hermitage, St. Petersburg (inv. no. 4575). We are grateful to Mr. Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, for confirming the attribution on the basis of photographs (verbal communication, 22 September 2008).
